The other night as I lay sound asleep in bed, I awake to the noise of what I thought was the trash truck. Odd I thought because little did I know, until I looked at the clock, that it was 3am….. No way could this be our Trash men. I tried to ignore the sound of the clinking of trash items, but something just didn’t seem right!
Our trash gets picked up Tuesdays and that prior weekend Josh and I spent that Saturday reorganizing the upstairs closet (across from Mayas cage). Josh also worked very hard on finishing up the office, which I must say looks phenomenal – Good Job Hunnie! So Monday night we set out an astronomical amount of trash, not to mention we have more to put out, but felt so badly for our trash men that we couldn’t bare to put it all out at once.
Getting back to the night at hand I hearing what did not sound like our trash men, I decided I was going to get up and peak out the front window. To what should my wondering eyes appear but a man digging through our trash with flashlight in hand! I really was shocked because it is 3am and here this person is digging through our trash making it his fortune! I wake up Josh and ask him if he hears the noise and precede to tell him that a man is out front digging through our trash, Josh does just as I did and peaks out the front window.
We are both amazed that what we see as something old, worn out, something we don’t use or want anymore can be the one thing that makes or breaks it for someone else. It could also be a fortune to that person. So, we are happy to have brought that Trash Shopper a shop at the end of our driveway.. just next time I hope he keeps it down a little so we can both get a good nights sleep!

Such a thoughtful and true statement you wrote in your final paragraph. BUT be alert, that trash of yours that evidently meant so much to the shopper may just show up nextdoor in that recently redecorated house. Think they will invite you to their housewarming.

Remember the medal frame at Forest Drive at the front tree…. was there for what (?) fifteen years. Trash man would never take it, so we mowed around it.
Well, last day there, cleaning out the garage, probably the wife of your decorator shopper, kindly asked to take it…… makes money on it by the once.
Who knew! 🙂 You know what they say: One man’s treasure…………..
