Maya is our Red–Footed Tortoise. Her breed is originally from South America. She was delivered to Megan in a small Airborne box and at the time was the size of a quarter. Now her circumference is the size of a large grapefruit. She will continue to grow gradually getting bigger and bigger eventually becoming the size of a small boulder. Being that Maya’s breed is originally from South America humidity is crucial to her survival, so she needs to be housed in an enclosed cage. Maya will outlive us all – putting her in our will is pretty much a done deal as she will live to be 80 years old!

Maya is picky like her mother when it comes to her home’s climate. Her temperature must remain at 85° durng the day amd 75° at night. Humidity must remain near 80% at all times.
