So here we sit on our couch – we are composing this post and all Megan can seem to do is look at her ring, while Josh looks at his beautiful fiancee!
A few days after Christmas we decided to take a few days for ourselves away from everyone! We headed to our favorite casino on the East Coast – Showboat! After checking in we decided to grab a few cocktails at The House of Blues Restaurant while enjoying our favorite past-time of people watching. Somewhere during conversation Megan became a “Girl” and started talking about marriage and our future together. Josh of course was his typical sarcastic self instigating and poking fun – trying to hit all the right buttons! Little did the “Girl” know what was going to happen.
Deciding that the people of the casino weren’t that entertaining, we headed up to our room for a movie and nap. The movie turned out to be very boring, not us, surprising since it was animated. Within minutes Megan was sound asleep, while Josh planned the next move he was going to make.
As Megan laid there sound asleep, Josh managed to open her hand and slide the engagement ring onto her finger. Megan didn’t budge… still sleeping. After catching his breath and allowing his heartbeat to slow down, the following happened:
Josh:
Megan will you marry me?
Megan:
What! That’s not funny! After everything we just talked about downstairs how can you possibly joke around about this, you just said that a proposal wouldn’t happen for a little while?
[Megan not noticing the ring on her finger, rolling back over]
Josh (about 15 seconds later):
Megan will you marry me?
Megan:
Josh, that’s not funny! You said you wanted to talk to my dad, you haven’t done that, it’s just not funny!
[Megan still not noticing the ring on her finger]
Josh:
Megan will you marry me?!?!
[Placing Megan’s hand in front of her face]
Megan:
Oh my God, Oh my God! – Lots of screaming and excitement – it’s my ring, it’s just the one I wanted – I love it!
Josh:
Um, so will you marry me?
Megan:
YES I will marry you!!!!!!!
[kisses and hugs]
Obviously these weren’t the exact words Megan used but between all of the excitement and screaming that’s what we remember! We spent the rest of our mini-vacation as a newly engaged couple, celebrating our love and happiness!
As of December 28th, 2006 we are engaged – let the wedding planning begin!

We also wanted to thank our parents for sharing in our excitement! Drinks and dinner with Josh’s parents and “Engagement Cake” with Megan’s. It was great to share this special moment in our lives with you guys!

CONGRATULATIONS in everyway possible. Josh your mother’s words are perfect. So may the two of you ditto them from this end. The cow is headed your way. Don’t be so anxious. All good things take time. RIGHT? Does the word ‘crazy’ fit many definitions?.. We are anxious to officially have you as part of this family. You have brought so much laughter to it in such a short period of time. We will be very pleased to give our daughter in marriage, to you, when that day arrives. She is one beautiful young woman both inside and out.

WOW! That is all I have to say! After reading all the comments…and engagement description I am in tears and the Matt’s comment mad me laugh! Sounds like you’ll have your cow, Josh after Dick’s visit to Morrocco. Congratulations to a perfect couple! I can’t wait until the wedding…and to hear about some of the plans you are making….FUN!!!!
