Everyone has a Rooster. Your Rooster might be earlier or later then ours, but regardless, it’s your Rooster. About two weeks ago we decided to trade-in our Rooster – looking for something that will fit our latest endeavour.
Cock-a-Doodle-Doo!!!
Our old Rooster used to get us up around 7:20 in the morning. This gave us enough time to get ready for work and let the dogs out – that’s about it. Our new and improved Rooster starts crowing around 5:50 in the morning, however a quick bonk on it’s head puts it back to sleep for about another 10 minutes.
Having to get out of bed at 6am because of our new Rooster friend now gives us a few opportunities that we didn’t have before:
- Letting Floppie and Ebony out much earlier then before, allowing them to not only use their restroom earlier in the morning but also giving them morning play time with each other.
- The ability to eat breakfast together. No more rushing around and not being able to eat. We can sit down and watch the morning news all while enjoying our breakfast selection.
But these aren’t the reasons behind our new Rooster. No, there’s a much bigger and better reason for him: we are working out!
Making use of both our spacious family room and our almost never used 62-inch big screen TV, we decided to purchase a few workout videos along with training weights. Thanks to our new Rooster, the last two weeks we’ve been getting up and exercising for 45 minutes at least 3 days a week ((sometimes more!)). We’ve even talked about exercising in the evening when we get home or taking the pups for a walk ((letting them have some fun too))!
Not only are we exercising in the morning, but we’ve also decided to start eating healthier. We really don’t feel that we’re unhealthy eaters, but there are times we continue to eat when we’re still hungry ((More-so Josh then Megan)) instead of just stopping. While we still splurge, we feel better about ourselves by trying to limit the amount of food we eat and cutting out the junk we don’t need.
Our new Rooster made us realize that there is a 6am and told him that Saturday and Sundays he better keep his mouth shut or he’ll find himself on the grill out back. Yum rooster ((Is rooster healthy?)).

Wow, do I feel like a failure! I might be able to excerise, eat less, and diet…..
but 6am………………NEVER!
Nice going……….really 🙂

If my rooster even thought about making a sound at 6am it would be taking an early morning flight out the window!
