After spending a few months searching the Internet and listening to recommendations on where to go for our honeymoon, we pretty much ended up in the same place where we started — full of questions. We knew we wanted to go somewhere warm, but not stuck sitting in an airplane seat for an exuberant amount of time; somewhere with a touristy neighborhood nearby, plus a great environment for the two of us to relax and enjoy time with each other. After-all, it’s our honeymoon! 🙂
Being that this is our honeymoon, we decided to contact an expert.
This past Saturday while doing some last minute vacation shopping, we decided to stop by Liberty Travel and see what they suggested. After waiting about five minutes for the next travel agent to become available, we were seated at Nicole’s desk anxious to get started. After asking us a number of general questions, Nicole suggested Mexico as the American dollar goes further and the surrounding areas are safer and touristy. One of the most important aspects that we told Nicole is that we wanted to be pampered ((no, not diapers…)) on our honeymoon – after realizing this things like an inside and outside jacuzzi, swim-up pool, etc didn’t really matter – we just wanted to be pampered ((damn Seven Stars card!)).
Being that Nicole was familiar with Mexico, she showed us a few resorts that she felt would meet our pampering needs. Between these we felt that walking on soft sand was much more comfortable then walking on pebbles and chose The Royal in Playa Del Carmen. The needs, wants and extras that we thought were important when we started looking turned out to be not as important as we thought when we sat down and actually thought about what we would like for our honeymoon and The Royal fit all of our new needs, wants and extras!
But most importantly we could be in Iceland and it wouldn’t matter, this is our honeymoon and as long as we have each other any place is perfect ((although we prefer to be pampered.))! :heart:
