Our 10.11.08 – Remembered

November 10, 2008 @ 8:31 pm ·

October 11th, 2008 – Our 101108 – was the day that Megan Renninger and Josh Cook became Mr. & Mrs. Joshua and Megan Cook. After almost two years of planning the day finally arrived! Strangely enough, that day was one month ago tomorrow and it seems a distant memory already. This is probably because the day itself seemed like a blur and ended almost as quickly as it started.

Here’s how we remember Our 10.11.08!

For Megan the day started by grabbing a quick bite to eat and heading off to Lords and Ladies to get her hair, make-up and nail ((just one needed to be fixed)) completed before heading over to Bella Vista to get dressed. Josh on the other hand had a bit easier of a morning. Waking up he, Matt and Sarah watched some TV and then had breakfast. After getting dressed they all shared a shot of vodka and started over to Bella Vista for pictures. :vodka:

Thanks to Maria and Rick from Blanco Photography we decided to take most of our wedding pictures before the wedding. While some may think that this goes against the old tradition of not seeing the bride before the wedding, we both agree that this was possibly the best decision we made. Not only did we get to share this special moment with each other without being rushed to get back into the reception, it was more intimate as it was primarily just the two of us and our close family. ((well, with the exception of Mr. DJ who wanted to hang out with the two of us…))

The ceremony itself couldn’t have been better. As most of you know we decided to have the ceremony outside and being that we were getting married in October we were a bit worried that it would be cold. The day ended up being perfect – 74° and crystal clear skies! Aside from the weather, the ceremony itself was perfect as well. Jill and Joe did a great job singing, Aunt Sandy and Jim read their verses perfectly and Pastor Dave married us as only he could do! I think the only complaint was that many people couldn’t hear us – but come on, this is our wedding and we were just a bit nervous! 🙂 On a funny note we watched a part of the ceremony on video after returning from our honeymoon and heard dogs barking and birds chirping in the background. Neither of us heard either while becoming Mr. and Mrs. – I guess our nerves made us hear less!

Just like the ceremony, the reception was perfect as well. The room looked fantastic – beautifully decorated white linen tables, chair covers to match ((Yes Brad, we still don’t like the chairs)) and colorful centerpieces finializing the tables and making the room breathtaking. It’s amazing how the room looked completely different the night of our wedding compared to all the other times we have seen this room in the past.

After finishing our first dance ((My Best Friend by Tim McGraw)), our parent dances ((check back because we plan on posting about our Parent Dances too!)) and a blessing we all sat down for an delicious dinner. Some of us had Chicken Marsala while others had Prime Rib ((One person had Vegetarian and one person had chicken fingers too…)) everyone enjoyed their meal equally. Oddly enough the only complaint heard was that the meals were too large and too much food was provided. Imagine that, people complaining that they have too much food!

After dinner everyone danced and took pictures while we tried to stay as involved in “on the dance floor” as possible all while still trying to circulate and visit each and every table in order to say hi to everyone who attended. While we tried our best, we do believe we missed a few – hopefully everyone understands.

Oh the cake or as we’ve been calling it – [intlink id=”398″ type=”post”]The Wedding Cake Incident of 2008[/intlink]. We plan to dedicate an entire post to the cake, let’s just say that everyone loved the cake. Everyone told us how delicious the cake was and that it was possibly the best cake they ever had. We didn’t have any. Well, except the one small bit we took for pictures. But we’ll leave that story for another day.

At the end of the night we changed into our travel attire and left everyone behind at our wedding as we started our honeymoon right from the wedding reception. One memory that sticks in our minds is everyone still hanging around to say goodbye – almost an hour after the wedding – to watch us leave and say goodbye. Thank you everyone for making Our 10.11.08 the most special day in our lives!

The Cooks!

I remember your smiles! Above all the beautiful decorations, and all that, that makes a wedding, the love that you showed for each other was overwheling.
