This past Sunday Megan and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary. Has it really been a year already? It really feels like just yesterday we were taking pictures…
Honestly I can’t believe that a year has passed since Our 10.11.08 – its amazing how fast time has passed. I mentioned this to a work collegue a few days ago to which he replied “it only continues to get faster so make sure to enjoy every moment you can!”((Bob Lodice, PC HIDTA. I’m hoping that no one knows who they are)). These are words that I’m going to try my best to live by. Anyway, I digress – imagine that.
Saturday night we had dinner at Gracies, a rather unique restaurant right down the street ((really, two and a half miles AWAY from P-Town – who would have thought)). It was the first that either of us had been there so it was fun. Megan had Filet Mignon of Pork which was absolutely delicious and I had Yellow Fin Tuna. My dish was really good, except silly me forgot to ask for it without wasabi so it was a little too hot for me. I still managed to eat most of the dish tough. For desert I had Tara’s Warm Apple Pie ((didn’t even come close to being as good as Dad J’s!)) while Megan opted for something different, Creme Brulee.
Sunday we did our normal “stuff” – grocery shopping and a quick lunch at Wendys. Yes, Megan knows how to pick her man, I spare no expense for her. 😉 We then spent the remainder of the day watching football and relaxing. We also upgraded our joint anniversary gift from an inside cabin to an outside cabin with balcony. Oh, I forgot to mention that, Megan and I decided to go away on a cruise for our first anniversary although didn’t want to do so in October as it’s the end of hurricane season. We’ll be cruising the Gulf of Mexico for 10 days in November!
Our Sunday night ended with the two of us carefully unpacking ((Thank you Mom R – it was packed perfectly)) the top of our wedding cake. After a full year of being shoved and stuffed in the bottom of our freezer, it was time to [intlink id=”398″ type=”post”]finally[/intlink] have a piece of our cake. We were so anxious! Is it going to taste as good as we remembered it? Will it taste like all the crap we have in the freezer? Should we have shoved a piece of cake in our mouths a year ago?
Luckily our cake ended up tasting great – it was the perfect treat to end our first anniversary! Of course having a cake taste like freezer would have been unique too, although I’m glad it didn’t…
This past year has been absolutely wonderful and I’m looking forward to spending a lifetime of anniversary celebrations with you Megan.
I love you!
