Today, January 19th, 2010 two milestones in Lima Cook’s pregnancy occurred.
It happened… Josh felt Lima moving this morning…. how amazing is that!!!! We’ve been trying for a good week to hopefully have him feel her move, but every time he would place his hand on my belly – she would stop moving around. Now it isn’t constant moving which I did let him know and told him he had to be patient. This morning it happened… I rolled on to my back and she started to move so I asked him if I could have his hand (he was laying next to me in bed).. he placed his hand on my belly and after a minute or so, he asked “was that thump her?” – “Yes, that was her” I said. I think he was somewhat speechless. She moved a bit more and then the touch of her Daddy’s hand lulled her back to sleep. 🙂
The second thing, while not as impressive as the first, or meaningful (especially to you all) is that I removed my belly button ring this morning. Since the age of 18 I have had that piercing and it just got to be too much… the pulling of the skin and pressure of the little thing just wasn’t working anymore. Over the course of the last couple days I have noticed it to be bothersome. Going on 6 months of pregnancy and I just took it out this morning, not that bad.

It’s a “feeling” that you will never forget. I still remember “Josh-a-Wash”. However, I believe that he was practicing kick boxing. 🙂
