Waking up this morning to the sight of white was a normal winter day in my eyes. For one little girl however it was the first time she felt snow.
Little Ella Mae sat in front of our screen door looking out at the snow falling from the sky. This isn’t the first time she saw snow, as it snowed on Christmas morning, this was the first time she touched it. A few days away from her 8 month birthday, I as her Mommy wonder what thoughts run through her mind as she sees these things that don’t happen on a regular daily basis. Being an innocent child, experiencing so many firsts, as a parent you just wonder “what is she thinking, what is she feeling”…
I scooped up a small handful of snow and let her touch it – she smiled! I then took the remainder of snow from my hand and touched her cheek – same angelic reaction, a big smile appeared. The innocence of a child experiencing something for the first time is a magnificent thing to witness. I realize that over the years these new experiences etc. will continue to happen, but some more-so than others are the moments that touch my heart in a way that is unexplainable!
Love you little Ella, remain the sweet, angelic baby girl you are!
