Looks like 6 years ago we received our Christmas cards too!
Unlike 6 years ago, today I didn't wait for Josh to get home... The children and I ripped open the box before they got on the school bus.

Met with Ella and Cooper's teachers today since we were away over conferences..
Both children are doing fabulous!
So blessed to have 2 children that while they drive Josh Cook and I crazy from time to time are nothing but super stars at school!
Ella is thriving in reading, as her teacher stated it "she's soaring from one level to the next!"
Her writing ability is strong and above where it should be for this time of year, which is incredible!
She is very well liked and her teacher asked if we could clone her!
Cooper has adjusted nicely and while he has sloppy handwriting (he's a boy and just doesn't care) he is right where he needs to be with his reading. He is opening up and sharing and volunteering more and more which is HUGE for Cooper! Socially, he's getting there and his teacher says he is very well liked by his classmates, he just doesn't initiate so therefore when he shares his day with us, it sounds like he isn't being included.
Think they both earn a trip took Kiwi Yogurt for this fabulous first Trimester!!
Awesome job kiddos!!

In speaking to the children about dinner I realized both weren't listening to me so in a loud voice I said ... " What do you think Squirrels legs and pine cones sound good for dinner?"
That got their attention.

Bursting with pride right now for how well Cooper is doing with sounding out words and trying to spell them on his own when doing drawings etc. -- as my kiddos love drawing, crafting etc.--
Everyday I worry about him and if the decision to send him to Kindergarten was the right choice.. he struggles with some parts of Kindergarten, which I can only hope will get easier with time, but I'm so happy the academic parts are falling into place for him and that he's getting it and using what he's learning!

When you son strolls in to your bedroom and whispers:
"I just want to wish you a happy first day of December."
Had to be an awesome day when it starts like that!
