Gotta love when the librarian questions your child on if she can really read the chapter book (all words no pictures) she wants to check out.
She opened up the book and made Ella read from it. No problems or issues she did as she was asked and the librarian let her check it out and Ella said she seemed surprised that Ella could read it without difficulty!
Very proud of my little reader!

We have busy evening schedule for the fall with activities starting some evenings at 5pm. However, my kiddos give me such a hard time when they walk in the door off the school bus and I immediately have them do their homework assignments. It isn't much, it doesn't take long, but they don't want to do it immediately.
Problem is, the extra curricular activities start and it's too late to do it when we get home. Plus the later in the evening it gets they become more and more tired and then it's like pulling teeth.
I've considered doing it all in the AM, but I hate making them do it then when they have a full day ahead of them.
How do you all handle homework, reading etc? Looking for ideas.
