All the Parents Meet

July 30, 2006 @ 9:34 pm ·

We finally decided that it was time for the Dads to meet and decided to get everyone together for lunch this past Saturday.  For those of you who don't know, our Moms met back on Mother's Day.  We had them both over for lunch and games and whatnot – that was a great day.  Anyway, back to this past Saturday.

Josh decided that the best place for everyone to meet is a small restaurant in South Jersey called Devone's.  While we'll probably write about that another time, let's just say the food is great, the service is horrible and the pricing is ridiculous.  But the cheese logs are incredible.  Other then arriving late because of stupid traffic on route 42, things went just as expected.  Terri (Josh's Mom) and Janet (Megan's Mom) started yip-yapping away, providing energy for several small cities, while the rest of us just sat there astonished that these two people could actually talk SO much and talk so freely after only meeting two other times.  A few minutes passed and everyone joined into the conversation.  Josh's parents talked about the house, flight lessons, the casino and Germany while Megan's parents talked about Matt (Megan's brother), the aquarium and the family's German heritage.  After a great meal of, let's see, chicken fingers, chicken fingers, chicken fingers, a cheeseburger, fried shrimp and, um, chicken fingers, we decided to head back to the Josh's parent's house.  After meeting an excited PJ (Josh's parent's dog) and a quick tour of the house, the conversation started and lasted for a few hours.  Wow, both Megan and I feel very relieved that the parents all seem to get along great!

We both hope that we can all get together sometime soon!  But maybe this time in Pennsylvania!

Mom got me started on your web page. I enjoyed reading about your kids. And I discovered you are right on top of things with this Saturday’s event. Again I enjoyed the day very much and would have to say you did not exagerate any in your discription of the day. Very enjoyable. The cheese and chicken fingers delicious.
