Dinner. Yeah, we had dinner. We were supposed to have four-day marinated fillet mignon ((That’s aged, right?)) tonight, but we ran out of propane ((Mind you, we have two propane tanks. One would think at least one of them would be filled. Nope both are empty holding down the deck.)). Luckily we had thawed chicken in the fridge; now we just need need to figure out what to make.
Arriving today from Amazon was a new cookbook so we decided to try something new. At least once a week have one of our new favorite meals which is pan fried, seasoned chicken with Mexican rice. While we love our chicken and rice dish, we’re really trying to broaden our culinary skills and figured this would be a perfect opportunity to try something new. We opened our new cookbook and came across a recipe for baked BBQ chicken. While this wasn’t our first choice, it was the only recipe in which we had all the ingredients.
Oven baked chicken with home-made BBQ sauce, baked beans and broccoli ((yeah, we don’t really understand the broccoli with baked beans either – but it was really good and we needed something green and healthy)) – doesn’t that sound great to you? After about 40 minutes in the oven the chicken was done and we sat down hoping our newly found recipe would be a winner to add to our collection.
Boy were we wrong.
Here we sit, at just a little after 9pm, both very hungry. Guess what cookbook is being returned tomorrow? If you’re interested in the recipe catch us before the cookbook goes in the mail tomorrow. 😀
Adios and good night.

Amen… The only problem there is we’d be broke because of our tastes in restaurants! Better find a new cookbook and take Michelle’s recipes! 🙂
