Our Birthday Tradition

After celebrating my 33rd birthday exactly two weeks ago, I realized it was time to share our birthday tradition with the world! So get ready world – get ready for the coolest, super-dooperist birthday tradition ever!

The Megan and Josh Birthday Dinner Tradition!

I’m assuming that by now you’re jumping in your seat with anticipation thinking “Whatever could this coolest, super-dooperist birthday tradition be?” – well here we go, it’s time to explain! Woohoo!!!

Megan and I both can’t stand waiting when we go out for dinner – it drives us nuts. Of course this isn’t always true – if the restaurant is worthy of waiting then we’ll wait for hours ((105 minutes maybe?)) at times, but there really aren’t any restaurants worth waiting for in our immediate area. Because of this, a few years ago we decided to change the principle of birthday night dinners.

Instead of going out to dinner on the birthday night, the birthday person can request any homemade dinner he or she would like. Yes, nothing is off limits! You could request Fillet Mignon with a side Lobster if you wanted – as the birthday person your dinner wish would be granted! And it even gets better – in addition to dinner, the birthday person even gets to request dessert too!

Being the astute mind reader that I am ((is anyone sensing the sarcasm here?)), you’re now thinking “Oh my, but whatever would you wish for? Fillet Mignon? Veal Parm? Something even more outrageous!?! Stop teasing us with your magical words Josh – what did you request!?!?”

Fear not loyal reader, as I will now tell you!!! When you’re ready and fully prepared for the excitement, click below:

What a great choice! See, when this first started a little over three years ago that was Megan’s first choice and for some reason we’ve stuck with it ever since. So while we are both still offered any selection we want, we always seem to make the same choice! Dessert, on the other hand, is a different story. Megan typically requests a cake of some sort, while I’ve been known to request cake, pudding and even those molten chocolate cupcakes!

Ah traditions, gotta love them! 🙂

I still owe Josh his birthday dinner from this year as well as his molten chocolate cupcakes! Because of being sick and moving our bedroom both dinner and dessert were postponed, not forgotten. While it sucks because I feel like a big loser for “breaking” tradition, I try to think of it that Josh’s birthday this year will be celebrated longer! 🙂
    Love you Honey!
