Samuel’s Little Cow

July 14, 2009 @ 7:08 pm ·

Recently Sarah and Samuel visited us from Texas spending the night with us and the four pups ((we were dog sitting Dora and Kenzie for the month of July)). During their visit Megan and I had the ability to play with Samuel and his small animal toys. It’s truly amazing how someone so young can know so much!

Samuel knows so much about these animals – their names and the sounds they make – for just about each and every little toy. Hold up the frog and Samuel would say “frog… ribbit!”  Hold up the horse, he’d say “horse… neigh!” While this is extremely cute and very good parenting, we did realize that Samuel still has absolutely no idea when it comes to the real size of animals.

Introducing Samuel to the four pups was terrifying for both parties. Samuel, never being around small dogs before ((he did meet Floppie and Ebony when he was much younger)), had no idea what these little creatures were crawling around at his level. The pups, not bring around children often, mostly seemed either frightened or unconcerned about Samuel’s presence ((Mother Hen cared – but we’ll save that for a future post)). While Ebony seemed to be frightened the most, Samuel on the other hand pointed directly at her and said:

Cow…. Mooooo!

After listening to Samuel, take a look at the pictures from Sarah and Samuel’s visit.

That still makes me laugh! Samuel still points to Ebony on the screen and says cow. He likes watching the video over and over saying “Samuel, Cow.” Thank you for a wonderful visit!

That is hilarious. I can so totally understand his confusion. It will be interesting to see what he thinks of Brandon (our 65 pound dog).

Really enjoyed viewing this way up in Maine. I can see how Kenzie did love Samuel as you told me in a phone conversation.

Samuel and Kenzie sure did bond. He hugged her and kissed her and pulled on her alot. After that Kenzie made sure he was safe.
