Blessed for the children that today are behaving one zillion times better than the past two days!! I was just able to get a few things packed for vacation and make meatloaf muffins which I'm going to freeze and bring along for an evenings meal!!!! I can exhale without the feeling of complete breakdown is upon me.

Playing cars with Cooper I ask him where all his cars are going to. He replied: "Mommyville" He then started to "park" the cars between my leg and leg of my shorts ....a garage at Mommyville.

Took Ella and Coop to my parents today to ride bike and play for a bit. Thought we'd skip the pool as it isn't overly warm out and the temp of the pool fell with all the rain. I knew that when not in the water they'd be cold. Ella got upset as she hasn't shown me how she swims with her face in the water, dives and dives for sinking octopus. I told her to go ahead but that I wasn't going to swim today and that I didn't want to hear she was cold. After swimming she leaned in close to me and said.... "You were right Mommy" She then followed that statement with "when she was in the water she was warm so I was only half right." Mommy does know best sometimes sweetie. Sitting outside watching her swim reminded me of the many cold mornings I didn't want to get into the cold Sunnybrook water. Kids will be kids!

Ella was on a roll tonight with her intuition and interested mind. Not only did we discuss name change and when it happens but also Father in Heaven verse Father aka Daddy. This was a doosie which I tried to keep as basic and simple as I could. She of course asked questions which led me to tell her God is our Father in Heaven. He created all things including you. Yes, Daddy aka Josh Cook created you with me but God, our Father in Heaven, helped create you too, as he creates all living creatures. She then asked why I'm not called Father if I helped create her. I tried my best to explain that there are two parents to every child and that God is the Father of every living thing, even Ebony!!! She seemed ok with this. Sometimes her 4 year old mind is too much to handle. The questions are those I would expect from a child a bit older! Love her mind and interest in all aspects of life, I just hope i do ok as a parent answering everything!

Tonight one of the books Ella selected fir before bed was a book of mine when I was little. My Mom wrote our name and the year we received the book in the inside page of each book. Ella had seen this in a good number of books that now being to her and Cooper. Some of the books were mine sine my brothers. She asked tonight to see my name and asked me to read my full name. Megan Christine Renninger She repeated back.... Megan McQueen Meginnger Wow such an honor to carry the name McQueen!!! This then led the subject of my last name not being Cook so I had to explain to a 4 year old that my name changed when I married Daddy, but only my last name. I foresee questions galore about this!!!
