Ella just got over a never ending head cold which included horrible throat congestion leading to a day or two that her voice was affected. Tonight Cooper is congested and running a fever. The fall is great (minus all the leaves dropping at a rate faster than light ;)) but with fall comes school (which is great cause my children love going) but with school comes germs and with germs come the "ping pong" effect. Ella ping, Cooper pong....back and forth the illnesses go. I hope this fall and winter not to be playing much ping pong.

Hearing the children sing together while riding down the road makes me a happy Mommy. The sound of singing and laughter warms my heart and are two of the best sounds in the world.

Just raked what felt like time number 1 billion, now enjoying a beer on the deck in the beautiful weather watching more leaves fall which means more raking. It never ends. Which is worse shoveling or raking?????

Teaching the children how not to be "sore losers" & how we don't brag about winning. Fun Saturday morning lesson using Candyland, memory Doc McStuffins & The Golden Book Game.

This time of year is fabulous, it honestly is. I love all the festivities and things going on around the area for fall and Halloween! However having my children wake up each and every morning asking for candy and junk first thing gets old quick. Having to explain that junk in the morning isn't good for our bodies that our bodies need good food to give us energy, they don't want to hear....They want junk. Having to explain that we are going to another party today where there will be sweets and cake etc. doesn't matter.... They want junk. Explaining that too many sweets will cause belly aches they don't care.... they want junk. They want junk, they want junk, they want junk. Somewhere between then waking up demanding junk and eating breakfast I convince them to eat a good breakfast and they lay off the demand for junk for a solid 20 minutes before starting all over again. Oh the joys of holidays. Non stop from now til January 1!

Overheard Ella suggest to her brother that they start cleaning up the Thomas puzzles they are working on together as it is almost dinner time. She is now helping him close the zip loc bag. Why can't it be this way all the time???? I am looking at the beer I took two sips of and seriously wondering if it is something in the beer that made this happen. Am I hearing and seeing things?

Ella has this thing about her eye color. She is much bothered that they aren't brown. She just declared "Hey! Ebony even has brown eyes!! Why did God make me the only one without brown eyes." To which I replied "Daddy doesn't have brown eyes." Ella..."Oh yeah, right."
