We had a nice dinner of "snacky, pop em in your mouth" kinda food tonight in honor of the festive night tonight means to many. While I am not a big New Years Eve person I did feel I owed it to my children this year to try and talk about what New Years Eve is, so we celebrated with party appitizers and conversation before playing a game, watching a tv show and tucking them in for the last time in 2014.
The conversation consisted of us reminiscing over the year 2014 having the kiddies share some of the things they remembered. Myrtle Beach and TN were high on the list along with opening up Christmas gifts, ha!
I explained what a resolution is and each came up with one. Both said they were going to try to not yell. Ella also said she was going to work on wiping her face (she leaves half of her food on her face)...
Here is hoping they both have a fabulous 2015...many changes in store for us this coming year!

Took down our Christmas Tree yesterday, yes yesterday. We spent half of the month of December with a ghetto tree. It was awful. A small section at the top was lit, and a small mid section, the rest was unlit as a fuse must have went in those prestrung strands. It drove my anil retentive self crazy and I could not get it down fast enough.
Josh and I, along with Ella and Coop, just destrung the entire tree and next Christmas we are putting all new lights on it.
Not really a job I wanted to do, but so glad it's over. Bless whomever gets paid to twist those stands into the tree, it was a challenge to get them off!

My husband is working from home this morning from our basement. I have managed to turn the lights out on him no kidding at least 5 times in less than 4 hours. Each and every time I've gone to the basement for something I've successfully left him sitting in the dark. He doesn't work from home often so I'm not used to leaving the lights on down there. What a trooper though he gets up, climbs the steps and turns the light back on...he nicely reminds me each time that I've done it again. This last time he told me her needs a candle.
I've realized that he needs to work from home more so I get used to him being down there and I've realized home many times I go to the basement... a lot!

I just got off the phone with Ellas pediatrician. The cultures they took came back today and she tested positive for Enfluenza A.
After talking with the nurse and me informing her on Ellas current activity, how she feels etc they feel she is on the mend and the worse is behind her. As I was informed last week when at the the doctor office there isn't anything that can be given to Ella at this stage, it needs to run its course. She isn't contagious and hopefully will be 100% back to normal soon!!!

You know your children are tired when they have successfully napped for 2.5 his and are still sleeping. Time to wake the beasts.

One would think new toys and gifts would bring a morning of ease, as there are plenty of new things to keep busy with. Not in this house, it just equated to more squabbles, bickering and frustration.
