Some parents have no compassion. Wow, the walls are to thin in this joint.

Headed to the doctor with Ella at 4:00. Her fever keeps fluctuating and she says her throat hurts. Hasn't thrown up, but with the holiday quickly approaching I'd rather have her seen then not and then have her get worse. Prayers they can give her meds or help her feel better soon. No fun being sick on Christmas!

I thought decorating the tree with two children was a long process. I think having them help wrap gifts is even a longer process. They enjoy it and are happy and willing which makes it fun even if a little tape gets wasted in the process!

Oh Dear..... Ella was up multiple times throughout the night...one time she was burning up so I gave her Motrin. She woke up this morning at 7:20 & still has the fever and is sluggish. She came downstairs and said "I'm going to look for Barrington later." - I know she's not feeling good if she's waiting to search him out. Prayers that a day of rest and lounging around will have her back to her bubbly self!

I asked Josh Cook to find a few boxes for my brothers gift...wrapping one box and then placing in another etc....make him work for it....Josh had no problem with this. He returned with a stack of boxes and is in the kitchen with moonshine, fruit loops, coffee and the vacuum sealer..... oh dear, my poor brother.

Having Barrington in our house this past month has been an absolute blast! The other day we were discussing how each felt he made the trip to the North Pole nightly for his "check ins" with Santa. Him flying was a thought, taking an air plane was a suggestion, using his magic was another thought....I suggested a train. This ramped up the conversation to another level. Asking both children if they heard a train outside the house. If they heard it's whistle etc (just like on the movie ....The Polar Express)..... Today they mentioned Barrington and his night travels and Ella asked if the music in her room could be turned down so she could listen for train whistles tonight. She also plans to listen for reindeer feet on the roof on Christmas Eve! I love their imaginations and imaginations get squelched at such young ages these days. This elf enhances their imagination and while the Elf is a new imaginary being, it just like Santa keeps their imaginations growing and their beliefs believing and their minds working overtime on how splendid, marvelous and magical this guy truly is! Just like Jesus...splendid, marvelous and magical!!!!
