Simple Trick

The way to get children to eat something. Make it for yourself …they’ll be all over it!

We don’t have a lead eater :)

So relieved…..Cooper hasn’t eaten any lead pencils or paint. Wooooweee I was worried. 😉

Age is Only A Number

Yet another moment when a child looks at you as a Mommy and doesn’t look at you as being older.
Tonight we were outside waiting for Daddy to come home. I had two beach chairs and a small chair of Coopers out so the 3 of us each had a chair to sit on. As one would have it both kids wanted to sit on the beach chairs leaving my behind with nothing to sit on.
I chose to sit on Coopers little toy car he uses in our garage.
Ella looks at me and says: when you get older you can have one Mommy.
I asked her how old you have to be.
She replied: 3
I said: how old so you think I am?
She replied: 2 months old.

Damn I’ve done and accomplished a lot in my two months of life, including having a 3 year old and a 2 year old!

I’ll give myself a pat on the back and a high five!

Age is only a number and in my daughter’s eyes her Mommy is just that her Mommy..regardless of if is 2 months old or 35 years old!

New Bedtime Routine

0

Just put Coop to bed. Since I removed the rocker from his bedroom earlier today per his request… I wasn’t sure how I was going to handle bedtime minus a rocker.
I decided I’d try reading to him. Up to this point he hasn’t been one to sit at bedtime and listen to a story. I tried and we read two short stories and then sang Jesus Loves Me using a book he received from his GodMother at his baptism. I then lay with him and sang a few more songs. When I saw his eyes getting heavy I told him I was going to go to bed…he rearranged himself and I covered him back up, kissed him goodnight, told him I love him and left. I haven’t heard a peep!
Here’s hoping he sleeps well!

Coopers Nap Update

Today’s Coop Nap Update:
Nap successful after he yelled and screamed and asked that the rocker go OUT.
When I went to get him up he saw the rocker on the landing and pointed back into the bedroom.
At this point I am completely confused about the rocker and where he wants it, if he likes it or hate it in his room and just pretty much about the whole situation.
Tonight should be interesting.

Coopers Two Year Checkup

0

Cooper had his 2 Year Checkup this morning. He weighs 28lbs 10.6ozs. and is 2′ 10.5″ in height. He is healthy and happy. The doctor put in a perscription for hydrocortisone as Coop has a really bad dry spot in the back of his right knee. Its been there for a couple weeks and comes and goes. The dry skin lotion we’ve been using on him hasn’t been working. Hopefully this solves the problem..if not I need to take him back for blood work as it could then be something else although he doesn’t show signs of it being anything else.

Coopers Bedtime

A successful night putting Coop to bed. Coaching him and talking to him about going to bed, about not screaming and yelling and how he’s a big boy sleeping in his bed seems to really help him.
He is sleeping on the floor but I know in time he’ll move up to his bed…kids sometimes are reluctant of the bed without the one side being there.
I am now hoping for a good night’s sleep!
