I’m 1664 (+1) Weeks Old!

Did you ever ask yourself: “Self, I wonder how much room 32 candles would take up on a birthday cake?”? ((I’m not really sure if there should be one or two question marks here…))  Luckily this year I didn’t have to because Megan made me Chocolate pudding instead!

Lately I’ve realized that I must be the hardest person to gift shop for; I really must be.  Not only do I usually not give any clues or ideas to things I like/want/need, I really don’t have the typical guy hobbies or interests.  I mean, yeah I like to watch Football every now and then on TV, but that doesn’t mean that I want a sports jersey or an official this-or-that from whatever.  Taking this issue one step further is that the things I do enjoy doing ((spending time with Megan, spending time with our Families, our web site, writing computer programs, etc)), you really can’t buy things for ((Not yet at least, we’re working on Inside Our Shell merchandise!!!)).

With that said, Megan made my 32nd birthday perfect – I guess she figured me out!

My birthday morning started off with Megan and I taking care of Floppie ((that post is just around the corner, be patient)), making sure that he didn’t run around while eating his breakfast.  As we sat there, I was offered allowed to open my first gift and it was my choice!  Did I want to open the small box, the big box or one of the two birthday cards?  Decisions decisions!  I decided to open the small box and save the others for later that night after work.

Whoopie The TurtleWithin the small box was an adorable turtle named Whoopie – a birthday themed turtle collectible for our Turtle Stuff collection.  Whoopie is a perfect addition to our ever-growing collection!  Now that Whoopie was reveled I was going to have to wait until later to open my gifts.  Oh me and my big mouth, the anticipation is going to kill me!

After a long day at work – which included a slew of birthday e-cards, lunch and a shared birthday cake for Sonia ((Sonia is Megan’s boss, we were both born on March 28th)) and I – we were back home again and it was now time to open more presents!  YAY!  As we got home Megan suggested that I check the mailbox to see if there were any cards for me.  After asking her to explain this thing she called a “mailbox”, I decided to investigate.  Wow, that’s amazing, a magical box that holds stuff – tons of stuff – for us.  Just amazing.  After going through 1,928 pieces of junk mail, I came across a few cards for me!  I received two cards from Mom and Dad and a card from Grand-mom (two of which had a little something extra special, if you know what I mean), plus a card from Megan’s parents too!  Oh I love cards – especially birthday cards!!!  Thank you everyone!!!

Mr Turtle BankOnce inside and after we took care of the Pups, it was time to open presents!  After reading a very thoughtful and lovey birthday card, I opened the BIG box!  I wonder what it could be?!?!  Well what else then a really cool turtle bank!  This guy – who I’ve named Mr. T. Bank – is just really cool!  I know that some of you reading this won’t understand all of the turtles, it’s just something that we both really like.  Especially when they are as unique as Whoopie and Mr. T. Bank!

Now there’s only one present left before dinner.  Megan handed me what I thought was another card and I opened it.  It read: “Saturday night we’re having dinner at The Melting Pot and then going to Helium Comedy Club to see Brad Trackman.”  What a great gift!  Not only have I really wanted to go to The Melting Pot for some time, I’ve always wanted to go to Helium and see a show!  This is great; oh, but wait, there’s more???  “And then…  Christina Aguilera Tuesday night!”  So I guess this is how great just gets better!

The rest of the night continued perfectly.  Megan made my birthday dinner which, of course, consisted of Grilled Tomato and Cheese with Tomato Soup.  After a few hours relaxing, watching TV we called it an early night and went to bed.  My 32nd birthday was absolutely perfect and I still had more to come!

You are right you are a VERY hard person to shop for, but I guess I pulled it off! I hope your 33rd is just as wonderful if not better than your 32nd! I love you!

You are “thee” most difficult person to buy for… trust me, I’ve had 32 years of experience. However, you’ve always appreciated every gift. Missed you on your Birthday, but I wasn’t worried, it was nice knowing you were “in good hands” . Hee Hee 🙂 ….Literially!

The answer to your queston is … 1. You are actually making a statement in your quote, not asking a second question. You are stating…”I wonder how many”, not asking “how many”. I may not get A+’s in Computer Shit 101, but Grammer….. definately an easy “A”!
