"What's your problem?" That is what Coop asked me as he was getting off the potty tonight before bed!

My heart shattered into a million pieces tonight. My parents kept the kiddos up to see Josh and I when we arrived home from our 5 nights away. It was great walking in and having them run to me and give me never ending hugs and kisses. We played awhile, they showed us all they did while we were away, including the artwork they did with MoMom and at Sunday School and preschool. I then got out a small bag which had a small snow globe in, one for each. As Josh is explaining to Cooper how you don't bang it or drop it....Ella accidentally dropped hers and the glass globe busted leaving a wet glittery mess on our family room carpet. Ella cried and cried and cried. My heart broke as I saw the expression of pure happiness...the best gift Mommy and Daddy could bring her (as she loves snow globes) disappear with a face of pure heartbreak taking over. After much consoling and holding her she calmed down to tell me that maybe we should have bought her a toy. She also asked if the reason I wouldn't read a second book to her was because her snow globe broke!!! Talk about tears....I cried my eyes out holding her until she was asleep tonight. Josh ripped the rest of the glass out of the globe and researched snow globe kits....as we want to fix this. I just feel awful. I as a parent did nothing wrong in buying my children a snow globe, but I ask myself...should we have gotten a stuffed animal or something non breakable instead??? Of course I promised her we would find the best snow globe out there and get it for her...do they make Cinderella snow globes????

Ella is getting an early intro to geography this morning watching the news with me. All the maps I show her where we live...she's so interested in learning about where our house is and where Daddy works!
