Had Ella to the Orthopedic Specialist tonight. They diagnosed her as having trigger thumb which she was more than likely born with. A cyst at the base of her thumb caused the ligament/tendon malfunction (for lack of a better word) causing trigger thumb. Our fingers have bands which hold the ligaments/tendons in place against the bone on each finger and this wasn't working properly due to the cyst. The doctor believes the problem appears to have fixed itself and says she may experience it again and if so to get her to straighten her thumb. If it should be an ongoing problem surgery is an option but at this point and at her young age he doesn't feel that is necessary. We were very impressed with the office..the staff and doctor were very friendly and Ella was so comfortable with the nurses and doctor. I will highly recommend to anyone ever in need of an Orthopedic Specialist. Thank you to everyone who has kept Ella and our family in your prayers. The prayers worked as the problem appears to have resolved itself. Best part of Ella's night was receiving a bone pen from the doctors....right up her alley as she loves pens!

Word misidentifications by Miss Ella: 1. Spikey pepperoni translates to spicy pepperoni 2. Wrap her up in a racoon translates to wrap her up in a cacoon.

Instead of taking her normal approach of calling out "Mommy or Daddy" in the mornings, Ella tried out a new way "Open up door!"

Ya know I'm sick when I prefer a hot cup of lemon zinger tea over a glass of wine.

Bring a SAHM and being sick is an awful combination. Day #3 of this. I'm telling myself "this too shall pass!"

Ella had show and tell this morning and chose one of her new books as her item. As we are driving to school she informs me that she wants to bring a song next time as her show and tell. "Let It Go" of coarse and she wants to sing it to her classmates. Adorable! :-)
