What a weekend....the whole family under the weather. Decided to get out of the house and yesterday we took the kiddies for a drive to Barnes & Noble which they enjoyed! Unfortunately on the drive home Ella somehow managed to injure her thumb. She basically couldn't straighten her thumb, it was in a permanent bent position. After doing a little online research Josh called the pediatrician who advised we take Ella to the ER as if the thumb was dislocated they wouldn't want her to wait to be seen till Monday. The ER took x rays and found nothing to be out of place or wrong with her thumb. They labeled it as sprained and we are to follow up with an orthopedic specialist tomorrow. She isn't in any pain and we took the splint off and it had straightened itself out. Hoping maybe the injury just needed time but still doing the follow up with the orthopedic specialist to make sure. She was a real trooper and so brave...I admire her at 3.5 years old she's been to the ER more times than I ever have and she doesn't cry, scream or act out in any way...honestly it is hard to believe she is only 3.5! Prayers for Little Miss Ella!

Do to the household being sick we missed church this morning. We had one very upset little girl as she loves Sunday School, her friends and doing crafts! We did watch Frozen together though. Ella watched it yesterday with Josh and Coop while I was at breakfast. It was nice to cuddle on the couch with her today and watch the whole thing. Very cute movie!

Ella told me she likes my hair, but I should color it back to brown because Cooper's favorite color is brown so he'd like it better. :-) Always looking out for baby brother, even when it comes to Mom's hair color! :-)

Singing "You Are My Sunshine" to Ella at bedtime. I have my own rendition I have sung to both Ella and Coop since they were infants. The one part I insert "you are my Ella (or Cooper) my sweet, sweet Ella...." Tonight she sang to me "You are my Mommy, my sweet, sweet Mommy." Way to end the day, smiling and feeling blessed!

After nap Cooper pulled a bunch of books out of his room and into Josh and my bedroom. The kids are now reading books on my bed. I am laying here with them and I hear Ella saying the words in correct order for the book "Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site" --- if I was a stranger sitting here I would have thought she could read. It was that spot on. Guess that's a hint that we've read that book a lot. She's now on to "Go Dog Go"...although some of those words she does know. :-)
