I honestly feel a room full of Kindergarten and first grade girls for 1 hour is more tiring then a classroom fun of 2, 3 or 4 year olds for 2 plus hours. I'm thankful for my extra energy levels when assisting with Daisy's! Fun night Laura Lamb Bortner, Ella has a fun fun time!!! And so did I!!

Whatever you may be facing today or this week have comfort in knowing we all are going through this thing called life together. Our stories may not be the same but we all face a journey. No matter how deep the mud were in this together and will reach dry land! Have a great week!

We had mice a few weeks back, 8 grown ups and 2 babies. We've successfully gotten rid of them, none trapped in days, but still had cleaning up to do on some of the storage shelves in our basement. This afternoon I took on that fun job with Cooper as my helper. He wasn't sure why I was cleaning like a mad women but asked at one point if I was soon done. I showed him all the poop that I was cleaning up and he said ... Oh I thought those were mice footprints.

It's funny how your life changes, how priorities, lifestyles, & friendships all change in the course of life. 20 years ago my focus wasn't what it is today. My friendships weren't the same (well some were), my lifestyle was for sure different and I was about to graduate HS! A lot of different paths in the past 20 years!! Now a mother of 2, a lifestyle I'm proud about and focusing on helping others find happiness through bettering themselves. Subbing, volunteering, and being around children each week (other than my own) is something I NEVER thought I'd do. I had a corporate level job handling payroll and benefits and the thought of children was so far from ever being part of my almost daily interaction. This week for example 4 out of the 5 weekdays were spent subbing or volunteering!!! Life is a mystery as you never know what direction you'll end up heading. Everyday isn't perfect but what you make of it is your choice & your Destiny!!

What happened to the days of the shoes you wear to school are the shoes you wear all day regardless of if you have gym. Children in Ella's class pack additional shoes on gym days!!! No consideration as to how this puts more work on the teacher, aides etc to get the children changed into sneakers. It is 1 day out of a 6 day cycle that sneakers are needed because of gym. I just feel it's ridiculous that these kids are packing alternative shoes! It's Kindergarten and the teachers have enough on their plates daily that shoe changing, in my opinion, doesn't need to be added to that list of jobs.
