The children and I were discussing their substitute bus driver and how she spoke up and hollared at the one boy on the bus this afternoon. This child has given the regular bus driver a real problem and is the same child who pulled Cooper off the seat at the beginning of the year.
Anyway, we were talking about how when I was in school, at Pottsgrove, there was a driver who was well known with many of the kids for how she spoke. The driver would tell at the entire bus...
"SIT DOWN, TURN AROUND PUT YOUR BACK AGAINST THE SEAT AND SHUT UP!"
Oh yeah... She was known but we didn't act out often. She was a sub driver and know of her because this was her famous line.
Kids today have it so differently. I also don't think a bus driver can say that anymore... Ha!
Anne Rembisz, Sarah Aguilar, Elizabeth Hessler Atchley do you remember her? We had her as a sub for Kathy in Elementary School. Rarely did we have her for Ralph... Who by the way still drives!

Cooper had been bringing home his school papers with his named spelled correctly but with a capital "C" lowercase "oope" and capital "R". After many attempts of bringing this to his attention and reminding him to use a lowercase "r", and having his teacher make him change it (when she'd catch the mistake) I told him that any paper he brings home that he uses a capital "R" instead on a lowercase one he'd need to write his name 10 times!
Told him this yesterday. Today both papers he brought home had the correct "r" being used.
Finding the correct way to handle a situation and what works for each child isn't something that comes in a parenting manual it's just trial and error... Hoping we found the solution.
