It’s Friday!!! Megan was so excited because we had decided to go to the pool. We got up and made our way to the Beach Level. Realizing we both should have a quick something to eat, we come across nothing. The only thing recommended for quick was Starbucks. Megan not being a big Starbucks food fan, was a little disappointed but settled on a chocolate chip cookie and oj, good breakfast huh?

We reach the pool and Wow if you want a decent seat by the pool you better get your butts down to the pool at 9am sharp. Yep, no seats! We venture out to the 5th pool which is all the way out in a separate fenced in area, across the street from the main pool area (where the wave pool and lazy river are). EMPTY… which turned out to be very nice and very relaxing. After about 20, if that, minutes in the sun, we are both very hot. We order a frozen drink from the waitress and once it arrives we get in the pool to cool down. After about 2-2.5 hours we had enough, we both felt a little sick, so we head back up to the room to cool off and rest for a bit.

Megan took a nap while Josh continued his quest to look for the four elements. After a good 3 hour nap, we get ready to go out for some food. This is where we had a problem, we couldn’t find a place that we could just get something quick yet good. The only place within the Mandalay Bay that we knew of to this point was “The Burger Bar” which oddly enough the only thing you could get there was a burger. So we head out on the strip and end up at New York New York. The one level of this hotel is really very cute. They made it look like the streets of NY! We found a Chinese Restaurant and ordered our usual Lo Mien, Fried Rice, and Josh got Beef and Broccoli. Again, not overly happy with the quality of the food.

We walk around a bit and end up at the Bellagio water show. This is just amazing, how they manage to make such a unique show out of water! The show runs every 1/2 hour during the daylight hours and every 15 minutes at night. We did not make it back to see in the evening, but still very mesmerizing!

We got back to the Mandalay Bay and because of our not so great experience with the Chinese food, we opt to order a pizza. YUM pizza right, Yeah well not so wonderful. The pizza ends up making Megan sick! We had decided to hit the VooDoo Lounge that night, but skipped the experience due to bad sausage and pepperoni!

I believe your vacation was terrific because you were together…… it didn’t really matter what happened around you, because you had a good time together. Try packing a lunch next time! It seemed that all your problems revolved around food, which is a pretty important thing in my book. And Megan….next time it’s Saurbraten or better yet Goulash! And remember…. The “Stars”, all seven of them, work at the buffets or resturants…try the card, may even be free! 🙂
