Ella and Cooper are sitting by the Christmas Tree playing with their Nativity. I overhear Ella saying to whomever Cooper has that they need to hurry because whoever she is being has to go visit another Baby Jesus soon! All I could do is smile!

Right before Quiet Time Ella turned and told me ....
"Today is Thursday December twelve, two thousand thirteen."
I asked her where she learned that. She said Mrs. Weghorst, her teacher, told her.
Once again amazed with my daughter. She retains so much in that brain of hers!

I have an ornament of an angel that my Aunt made me in 1982. It has a tag on the back of it with '82 handwritten on it.
Tonight we were at the dinner table and Ella picks up the ornament and says "eighty two degrees".
First I was surprised she knew that the number was eighty two! Then I was even more surprised about her saying degrees. While it wasn't a degree sign, as it was on the wrong side of the number, I was shocked that she knows what a degree sign looks like!!!
This girl makes me question if she is somehow going to night school. Seriously, what will she shock me with next? Her knowledge amazes me!

More and more lately Ella has been asking about Jesus. One of her questions was when can she talk to Jesus. I've explained that we talk to Jesus when we say our prayers. Tonight after saying our bedtime prayer I asked Ella if she would like to say anything special to Jesus..she said yes and continued to thank Jesus for Mommy and Daddy.
These moments of pure innocence make me realize once again what a terrific daughter I have. She truly is a blessing to me and while she thanked Jesus tonight for me, I thank him everyday for her!

Two Ella happenings:
1. We started saying "take a deep breath" when Ella or Coop get upset, can't handle something on their own or something isn't going their way. I heard Ella tell Coop to "take a deep breath" today when something wasn't going his way.
2. When singing "Santa Clause is Coming To Town" at the line about being bad or good Ella points to Cooper when she sings bad and herself when she sings good!
This Little Lady cracks me up!

I'm playing Candyland with Ella, a stuffed Dragon and a stuffed sheep. Never thought I'd be able to say that in my lifetime :-)
Being a parent leads to a lot of unexpected things you thought you'd never do but every last one off those things it's worth it!
Fyi...the Dragon is winning :-)
