A few years ago when I started working in Philadelphia I began to realize that somethings – even if only a few miles across either the Ben Franklin or Walt Whitman Bridge – were really only known in South Jersey. As I continued to meet people further west in PA the same story continued – I would ask someone if they have every heard of this delicacy and I would just about always receive the same response – a blank stare followed by a profound no.
I am talking about the Panzarotti of course!

We’ve added a new page to our website where we plan to feature eateries & bars we enjoy as well as places we hope to try in the future. Of course we are willing to share, so take a look, and if there is somewhere you think we should try, let us know so we can add it to the page!

Growing up in Pottstown The Half Way House was one of the “ritzy” restaurants in the area. Having eaten there a few times in my lifetime, it was a bit shocking to see the place close down. However, what was moving into the old style stone house restaurant looked really interesting, a Japanese – Hibachi Restaurant!

This weekend Josh’s Mom came up for a couple of reasons. The first and main reason we had her up, was to celebrate her birthday. While her birthday isn’t until tomorrow (June 2nd), we wanted to at least take her out to dinner while we all could arrange it in our busy schedules. In addition to spending the weekend together, we enjoyed a great dinner at Mama Velias’ Italian Restaurant. Boy was that Veal Parmesan good! Looking back, we both just realized that we didn’t even get a birthday cake – what were we thinking?!?! So Mom, we have a birthday cake here waiting for you! No guarantees we won’t eat it though! 🙂
We also spent a good part of Saturday and Sunday looking at different places to hold our rehearsal dinner. Being married in the Pottstown area, our choices are rather limited as there aren’t very many places that offer what we were looking for. While some places had a great room for us to hold our party, either the food selection or overall pricing was horrible/outrageous.
In the end we believe we chose the right place for our rehearsal dinner. Hopefully we’ll be able to confirm the date with everyone ((Brad from La Massaria and Pastor Dave from Church)) and celebrate the fact that we rehearsed! 😉
Happy Birthday Mom!!!
For those of you who don’t understand the title, Italian Sausage and Peppers was the one thing that Mom wouldn’t stop talking about all weekend. Hey Dad J, just a hint, bring her some Italian Sausage for her birthday! ((Stop thinking so dirty too!))

Planning a wedding can often be stressful – aside from picking your reception location, a photographer, finding a DJ, etc – other stresses sometimes just pop-up completely unexpected ((i.e. See Megan’s post about the H…)). While we still have a lot of things to accomplish that are very time consuming and will probably bring a certain level of stress, last night was just a little different.
A little bit of great food, a lot of great wine and no stress!

Good, unique restaurants are hard to come by in our area. While Josh and I keep our eyes open for new places and like to try new places, it is hard when there aren’t many places in our surrounding area that look that great or that are unique!

For Josh's birthday back in March, we had our first dining experience at the Savory Grille based upon the recommendation from a coworker. Our memories of the food that night are nothing but exceptional, although because we couldn't remember everything exactly we decided to spark our memory and make a return trip because we liked the food so much and couldn't wait to go back for the benefit of Inside Our Shell.
