Children not listening is one of the most frustrating things to me as a parent. I deal with that frustration daily and I continue to try to instill the importance of listening to both of my children. When they don't listen at bedtime it is even harder. The tears and unwillingness that accompany the not listening makes the job of parenting that much more difficult. I sit here and listen to Ella upset because she made the decision close to an hour ago not to listen her Daddy and things have just spiraled from there. She made the choice not to listen and continues to learn the hard way that bad choices equal not so great consequences. Again another tough parenting moment but I'm glad I'm on the couch for this one;)

Ella just told me that she loves berry juice and it's so good. She continued to tell me that she doesn't like the juice at school it tastes yucky. I asked her what it tastes like and she said.....BEER! I asked her where she had beer and she said school! Oh Lordy!

Day #12 I am thankful for education. The knowledge and skills we receive from education is amazing. Watching my two children grow into the little girl and boy they are today from the two little babies who knew nothing and were dependant on me for everything is all due to education. Education comes in all forms not just behind a school desk. While school is important and both my children are in school, the education they received from birth through age two was a different kind of education and look how it molded them into the bright, sweet individuals they are! Take time to learn, it's worth it!

Day #10 today I am thankful for volunteers. Not everyone can find it in their heart to be a volunteer, but those who have volunteered or do know how rewarding it is. This morning Josh and I are volunteering in the nursery at church. We do this about every 6 weeks. While our commitment to volunteer is small compared to other volunteers, it is needed, for without our willingness to rock, hold and play with newborns - age 18 months those parents wouldn't be able to attend the church service children free! Ella and Coop both attend Sunday School and both those classes are taught by volunteers. Volunteers are a blessing and often times get over looked...remember to thank those who do volunteer and think about volunteering yourself!!!
